Renee Burger grew up in the culinary and ethnic mecca of New York City and is
an ardent fan of its wonderfully diverse foods, especially the marvelous
confections that abound there. In fact, coming from a family with strong
feelings on the subject, she claims to be "genetically-driven" in her
appreciation of the rich dark mysteries surrounding superb chocolate!
Always passionate about good food, Renee derives great satisfaction from
creating delicacies that conjure the same rapture for others.
After moving to Vermont in the 1980s, Renee began selling Vermont Buttercrunch
in five delicious flavors. Life and two children interrupted the fledgling
enterprise, but now this creative entrepreneur is back in business as The
Chocolate Wizard. This Web site features her incomparable Chocolate Fisch,
as well as a revival of her Mocha-Hazelnut, Espresso, Alpine Almond, Bittersweet
and Milk Chocolate Buttercrunch.
Renee's confections are unique and delicious, inspired by old family recipes,
